Miss Maryanne Memmolo is a highly accomplished and dedicated dance educator with over 25 years of industry experience. As the owner and director of Step N Style Dance Co. since 2009, Miss Maryanne has successfully cultivated a nurturing, dynamic community that prioritizes students' growth and development.
Starting the dance school at just 19 years old, her dream of creating a thriving dance studio has come to fruition through her extensive qualifications, experience, and passion for teaching.
With a Diploma in Dance Teaching and Business Management (ATOD), a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, and accreditation as an Acrobatics and Tumbling Examiner and Teacher with the Acrobatics Dance Association, Miss Maryanne's expertise spans across a range of disciplines. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and an accredited Glenn Wood Tap Teacher, further solidifying her diverse skill set. Miss Maryanne is also a qualified Reformer Pilates Instructor and regularly participates in professional development courses with the Royal Academy of Dance Australia to ensure her teaching is always at the forefront of industry standards.
Miss Maryanne's extensive experience includes not only teaching but also performing at a high level. In her younger years, she competed at State and National Irish Dancing Championships, placing in the top 3 at the State level and the top 10 nationally, earning consistent qualifications for the World Championships in Ireland. Her professional career includes tours with Celtic Angels and the Rhythm of Ireland Show, as well as performances at high-profile events like Boxing Championships, weddings, and modelling for David Jones.
Her students thrive under her guidance, regularly achieving top placements in competitions and exams. Miss Maryanne has successfully led Step N Style students to qualify for the National Dance Championships, where they've earned top rankings in Australia and New Zealand. Her focus on elite training is evident through the creation of technically demanding and competitive routines for her Show Troupe students, with many going on to perform at prestigious venues like Disneyland USA and Universal Studios. Miss Maryanne's network within the industry also allows her students incredible opportunities, including a recent performance in Bonnie Lythgoe's Oz Panto show, Snow White, and multiple students being accepted into the well known Australian Choreographer Marko Panzic's "The Dream Elite" by the Dream Creative and the IT Interstate and International Training Program with the Australian Ballet.
As an adjudicator and examiner for dance competitions and eisteddfods in NSW and interstate, Miss Maryanne's reputation as a leader in the dance community is well-established. Her students benefit from her wealth of knowledge and her commitment to excellence in every aspect of their dance education.
In addition to her high-level teaching, Miss Maryanne has created programs that focus on leadership, creativity, and personal growth. The DanceStep Program (introduced in 2018) teaches students valuable leadership skills through a four-level assistant teaching curriculum, while the Little Steps Dance Program encourages imagination and creativity in preschoolers aged 2-4. Miss Maryanne also directed the highly successful Around the World movie production in 2020 and, despite the challenges of the 2021 pandemic, managed to organize three live dance concert shows for all SNS students.
A committed mentor, Miss Maryanne takes pride in nurturing her students' individual growth, always pushing them to reach their full potential both as dancers and as people. With a 100% pass rate for her students in Ballet, Tap, and Acrobatics exams, she consistently demonstrates her ability to guide students to success at every level.
